History
North Eastern Institute of Child Development, Ministry of Public health, is specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The institute was established by initiation of Doctor Prach Boonyawong, former General Director Department of Mental Health to promote child and adolescent psychiatric services in the country as well as preventing, treatment and introducing knowledge relating to Child and Adolescent health care in general.
However, in 2004, due to budget deficit. Department of Mental Health then has collaborated with Dr.Prapha Pukpho, the former director of North Eastern University who has generousfuly funded the establishment of Out Patient Department building through the incentive of celebrating Princess Galyani Vadhana’s 84 birthday on Mat 6th 2003.
The constructing of the OPD building started on 15th January 2004 by foundation stone laying ceremony by Princess Galyani Vadhana and completed in August 2008. With total budget of 11,500,000 Baht.
Recently, the Institute of child Development has been renamed to be North Eastern Institute of Child and Adolescent Mental Health since September 2015. Operating as OPD services for patient under 18 years of age, inclusively for KhonKaen, Roi-et, Kalasin, Mahasarakham provinces, with approximately 5000 patients a year. And from July 1st 2015, the institution has started In Patient Department services.

To be one of the nation’s leading Child and Adolescent psychiatry institution with specialization in community mental health for Child and Adolescent within the year 2019.

Services
The institution provides services including promoting child development and treating mental health problems in Child and Adolescent such as delayed development, mental challenges and other child psychiatry problems covering ADHD, Learning problem, emotional problem, epilepsy etc.
Working time ( Monday – Friday from 8.30 am – 4.30 pm )
